The drive for Guppers started on spring 2008 while we were working on a social-messaging product. We built our messaging, community, and wireless display technology platforms around the idea. The phenomenon of social networking was at peak at that time, and people of all ages were participating and staying connected through many popular social networking services or websites. Of course, the trend is still continuing on up until now. In essence, social networking technologies have made it easier than ever for everyone to connect and share information; people are empowered and motivated to express and share ideas more freely. While social networking is flourishing, collaboration in business space has been very traditional, monotony, and weak on networking elements. We realized if we could bring the same excitements to business that would change the way people work. It promotes better team work and brings employees, partners, and customers closer. That is why we develop Guppers – we want to make business collaboration so easy and effortless so that work can be more productive and fun.

Guppers is built on three foundation technologies: mobility, cloud computing and social computing. With our mobility platform, it allows employees, partners and customers to access and to participate business activities everywhere, while cloud computing provides cost-effective, agile and reliable solutions around the world. Social computing technology boosts productivities by encouraging more transparency among team members.

The Guppers team is truly global and we have presence in different parts of the world. The team consists of Microsoft veteran, ex-CTO, senior engineers and sales around the world. We work and collaborate across the globe at different time zones. We use Guppers as our collaboration platform and “eating our own dog food” daily to ensure what we build is simple, practical and useful to others.
